Prof. D N Dhar is an expert in natural products and synthetic organic chemistry. He retired from the Dept. of Chemistry, Indian Insitute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur after 35 years of distinguished academic life. He has over 130 research papers, articles and books to his credit. He is a recipient of the fellowship of the National Academy of Sciences. In recogniction of his contribution to science, his name is included in The International Directory of Distinguished Leadership, 1990.
Rupa Dhar was principal and science co-ordinator of the campus school at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, where she specialised in elementary science education. She has been an active member of the All India Science Teachers' Association, and her interests include child education, child psychology and folklore medicine.
